What is Palynology?

Palynology originated in Scandinavia in the early 20th century and developed in America after World War II, particularly in the area of George Fournier, Third President of AASP petroleum exploration. This site includes Biographies of over 100 palynologists who were prominent nationally and internationally in the development of palynology.

PALYNOLOGY is an international journal puplishing peer-reviewed papers on all aspects of palynology. It is distributed electronically by AASP Publications GSW, BioOne and JSTOR and is indexed by ISI. Its staff includes the Managing Editor and an Editorial Board. In addition, AASP Foundation publications such as the Contributions Series are for sale on the AASP secure site. Palynology is now published by Taylor & Francis, see Instructions for Authors.

Awards & Rewards

AASP recognizes excellence in palynological research, in teaching, and in outstanding service to AASP with several How to apply Awards. AASP supports student research through scholarships and through travel grants to selected national and international meetings.
