Word has reached us from the Swedish Museum of Natural History that Dr. Hans Tralau, Secretary of the International Organization of Pa1eobotany, died on March 14, 1977, of cancer. Hans was active in both pa1ynology and paleobotany. His ambitious contribution to both is an extensive computerized bibliographic compilation and index to the literature on stratigraphic palynology and paleobotany, listing some 20,000 titles from the years 1950-1970. We all regret the untimely passing of Dr. Tralau .
